III. Terra Engine - Hive Mind

My opinions regarding this album have shifted over the years. On the one hand, it features an expanded sonic palette, an elegiac theme, and the most consistent conceptual focus from start to finish. On the other hand, I was convinced by outside parties to change the nature of some of the tracks, for better or for worse. Looking back, some of those fears may have been overblown, but ultimately it is up to the listener to decide for certain.

Sections of this track were created using the Sonitarium VST, which was also used for the last two tracks in "Power Ambience" (note that I used, and continue to use, version 1.0. The latest version may sound different). In looking back at these tracks, I am struck how different and unique many of the 'freeware synths' sound compared to 'professional soft synths', and now I understand why: many of them wished to emulate modular synthesizers, without the expensive modular price. I will stick to the free varieties...for now.
